i am getting a nasty rattling sound (buzzing) when i play something on the E bass string.......it mainly happens when i am playing the F, F# notes.......what are the main things i should look for in order to fix it? Preamp, output tubes or what else?

Re: Problem with my fender deluxe reverb

I had this weird rattley noise happening with my 80's fender concert awhile back. Would happen when I'de play stuff on the lower strings, Mainly the low G note on the E string. I looked all over trying to figure out what it was, tried tightening every single screw on the amp, tons of other stuff. But nothing helped it.

Turned out it was cause there was this metal Box thingy about 4 feet away from the amp. The lid of the box was rattleing, haha. Might try checking around the area the amp is in, an see if theres anything that coule be rattleing. Maybe the cord for the footswitch is touching something else? Anytime I've had a rattle with anything since The incident with the box, I always check for other things in the room that could be rattleing. And Every single time I find that the rattle isn't actually comeing from the amp.

Re: Problem with my fender deluxe reverb

Could be a tube. Tap them all one at a time see if you can isolate the problem.

Could be something loose...bad solder joint, etc.

But with tube amps, seems like as often as not it's a tube. Could even be a dirty tube socket or jack or input that's needs cleaning or tightening. Check the reverb cables around the back.

Could be a speaker too...let's hope not.

sounds like a tube to me, most likely a power tube.
