Good evening players,
I have a couple of 80s Rat pedals but am curious as to the Fat Rat pedal. Anyone have one? And your thoughts on the Fat Rat?

No, it’s a few years old.

I want one. It's based on the Whiteface Reissue of a few years ago, with other clipping options that cover most if not all of the RAT versions. Still made in the U.S. but more expensive than the Chinese RATs. It's basically the ultimate RAT.

Never used one myself and I've almost pulled the trigger on one a few times since the Rat is my favorite OD/Distortion pedal but I keep stopping myself even when I had $20 off. I just don't know what I'll get over my modified vintage spec Brownie Classic Rat/Turbo Rat clone and can't justify pulling it off the board. It is very tempting though especially if I stick an LM308 in it to get it to original specs.

I wanted a ProCo Fat Rat . . . but strangely it was cheaper to get a custom clone build . . . so i did.
IF my booteek Rat is anything to go by, i love what the Fat Rat brings to the table.
To my ears (i never tested the real thing) it sounds like a classic LM308 Rat, but with a notable increase in the low end and low mids.

The Fat Rat is cool but my vote goes to the Rat Deucetone as the "Ultimate" Rat. That thing is seriously cool.
