I searched the forum and couldn't seem to get anything out of this.
Am starting to plan for a 2008 project.
Checked out the wiring diagrams on SD webby as well as other guitar resource websites but can't seem to find anything close.
Please do correct me if any technical info I laid out here is not feasible for real life use.
Well here goes:-
Strat based guitar 25.5" scale
Was thinking of a HSH, but can't seem to find an SD humbucker that has both A2 and A5 per coil. So instead I thought of going for 5 single coils. Reading that A2 and A5s do combine very nicely tone wise.
Not sure if 1+2 and 4+5 should be in series or parallel, but I really like clean single coil sounds. Although I do sometimes fancy crunch for blues.
Listing down from bridge to neck
1. SSL-1 (position angled as per normal strat)
2. APS-1 (RWRP LH Angled beside SSL-1 Bridge)
3. SSL-1 (RWRP)
4. APS-1 (RWRP)
5. SSL-1 (LH)
1 and 2 to be wired to a 3 position switch for Single - Humbucker - Single ( Mini Switch-Double Pole ON/ON/ON)
4 and 5 to be wired to a 3 position switch for Single - Humbucker - Single ( Mini Switch-Double Pole ON/ON/ON)
Connected to a 5 way selection switch:
Position 1: Bridge
Position 2: Bridge + Mid
Position 3: Mid
Position 4: Mid + Neck
Position 5: Neck
Control Pots:-
250k Tone (Bridge)
250k Tone (Mid + Neck)
250k Volume (Master)
Maybe a push pull on the bridge tone knob to turn on bridge in positions 4,5 on 5 way switch?
Any comments and help are greatly appreciated.
Btw, some questions may seem really weird, but I'm in a country where guitar hardware is difficult and expensive to come by.
I hope I didn't ask too many stupid questions, but its not easy to experiment with gear around here.
So gotta probably order online and get a friend to ship it to me somehow.
