Project RG - the story and more pics

So, just over a year ago I was made redundant so sought things to fill my time, and bought a beat up silver RG body intending to re-spray red and use in the rock covers band I was in at the time.
Obviously, being out of work, I had no money to buy a can of red paint let alone another neck, trem etc.
So I started sanding.
I few months later I quite the band as they were bugging me to distraction, so I did a bit more sanding.
I'm now back in employment so more bits were bought, more sanding done and I thought about staining it red... then I bought some danish oil, slapped on a coat and it look so good I kept going.
The full set can be seen HERE

But here's another taster.

Stats:
Body - five piece basewood, finished in danish oil from and old MIJ 550
Neck - Maple with rosewood board, back of neck has the shoulder sanded off for more of a C shaped and is fnished in danish oil. From a MIK non locking varient.
Trem - Edge lo-pro (I accidentally bought an edge III which didn't fit). I know there's no lock nut, but there might be one day ;)
Pups - Bridge is a JB8, middle a nasty stock ibby until I figure out what I want in there, neck is a '59.
Controls - volume (marked 'tone'), standard 5 way and a toggle switch to tap the bridge. I never use a tone control so decided not to have one :)

Only my second only parts build (I think Domninus rebuilds a guitar in the time it takes me to decide on a paint colour) and I'm dead chuffed with the results.
Could do with a fret dressing but it still plays real good and it's so much fun after ages struggling with my LP, which I still love but it's a pain in the back and not the easiest thing to play.
