Proud New BC rich USA owner

I went to the guitar shop today, I was gonna put some duncans in my cheapo strat. And I was looking around while talking to Randy, the owner. And my brother eyed this 80s looking Metallic pink shred machine on the wall. I was looking at some outrageous LTD with EMG-HZ's in it. My brother insisted I play the BC rich, so I did, and it was sooooooo nice, action was mint, had the sweetest pickup switching I have ever seen before. You can turn on the pickups individually with mini toggles. It has a Kahler locking trem, body must be maple because its pretty hefty, neck aswell. Rosewood finger board with what look to be pearl inlays. Just a real hardcore 80s looking shred machine. So I asked randy what it would take for me to walk out of there with it. And he says $350 CDN (half of what the LTD was that wasnt half as nice to play)

So I walk straight to the bank, get the cash and here I am playing it at home :DI dont know much about the guitar itself, as for age, value etc. but I love this thing.

I have a pic thats similar to the one I have, only a different colour.

If you go to the BC Rich site/forum I'm sure they'll help you find out what kind of guitar it is.

And congrats!

It's gotta be from the late 80s or early 90s NJ series(back then the exact series wasn't imprinted on the headstock just the script logo but custom shop models have the big R on them) but i'm not sure whether those had kahler trems on them(could be moddifyed).Whatever it is, nice deal and have fun.

Yeah its a Kahler, has "Kahler Made in USA" stamped on it.

The only 2 markings on the guitar are "BC Rich" and "Made in USA"

Im trying to figure out what kind of pups are in it, the humbucker sounds pretty heavy.

Congrats. The american made BC's are definitely quality instruments. Just soemtimes have a hard time getting that whole C.C. Deville association out of my head ;) :D

Re: Proud New BC rich USA owner

i never realised BC rich made guitars like that!

and now, goddamn you, i want one :D

something about 'the old ones are better'?

Re: Proud New BC rich USA owner

awesome, that looks similar to my gunslinger (but mine is 1 hum, maple fb, reverse headstock). what does the neck plate say? you should be able to email the serial number from there to bc rich

Re: Proud New BC rich USA owner

well the old models were allready made in series but still in USA. Today'sseries Riches are produced in korea. And whether the od ones are better depends on the series(an old NJ willstill be betterthan todays platinums) but i don't really know because my factory riches are korean made.
