PRS Soapbar SE

I'm considering getting one of these, I've heard loads of good things about them, and I'm really getting into P90's of late, so.....

What's the score, who has one and what do you think of it?

Also, as this uses the singlecut shape is there gonna be a problem getting hold of them in the near future?

I'm in the UK and I seem to remember something about the Gibson lawsuit only affecting either US made or US sold singlecut, can't remember if that is correct though!, can anyone enlighten me on this?

Re: PRS Soapbar SE

I'm pretty sure PRS is not making them anymore because of the lawsuit. Any ones out there that are for sale will be very expenisive I'm sure. I know the PRS soapbar guitars have Duncans in them; Vintage in the neck, Custom neck in the bridge (I guess so as to not overpower the neck pickup).

Re: PRS Soapbar SE

Those are a secret collectible....well, not really a secret anymore. Those are really cool guitars, which are a great 'bang for buck' purchase. If you have the chance to grab one, do it. A couple years ago, they were going for as little as $400, but since the lawsuit is a major landmark for PRS/Gibson, those will skyrocket in value almost as much as the US Singlecuts. If I had a lot of money, I'd be buying up Singlecuts because they WILL be the 59 Paul of the future, if PRS continues to be the 3rd largest guitar company.

Hmmm, sounds like I better find one quick!

I've seen them on Ebay for £300-£400 New, so if one comes up in either cherry or black, it's mine!

Thanks for the replies.

Re: PRS Soapbar SE

I just looked at the PRS site and due to the lawsuit there aren't any deatails on the soapbar SE but there is a Soapbar SE II, it is basically the same but with the traditional PRS shape (much like the Mcarthy soapbar)

Anyone seen any of these out on the street yet?, are thay the same?....
