PRS style guitar-Pickup help and opinions needed

Hello All,

I am happy to be a new member-

I am building a PRS style guitar-

Its Mahogany with a Maple cap and has a set Mahogany neck.

I was thinking of using a Covered Custom and a 59 or ??? for the neck. I am looking for a nice neck pickup that handles distorted leads well and has a good clean to as well.

Any opinions???

Where can I buy Covered Pickups? I looked at the BlackRose site and they didnt have a Custom Covered/Nickel listed. Thanks a Bunch All!!!

Hey,

How are PRS style guitars grounded? I never owned one of these before. Can you ground it without going to the bridge? Thanks Again All.

You want to ground to the bridge.

Yeah... Just think in the effect your hand makes when it touches the strings. A lot of noise it's removed, that's the effect you get from grounding the bridge.

For the neck the 59 it's an amazing pickup. I have a 59 being part of an hybrid pickup and I soon as I can I am going to reasembly it to set it in the neck of my Guild S-100. I have tried a few neck pickups and I still think it's the best (closely followed by a strat neck SC)
