PRS Tremonti SE pickup swap

Hi guys,

Apologies if this question has been asked a million times before. Ive just acquired a PRS Tremonti SE and I find the pup's to be a bit muddy for my ear. I play blues rock, classic rock, through a HRD III and I use SD Twin Tube Classic for my overdrive, distortion. Any suggestions on brighter sounding pup's. I'll also be upgrading the pots to CTS with Orange Drop caps.

Apart from that, I'm very impressed with it. Great guitar, especially as it was a gift.:arms:

Re: PRS Tremonti SE pickup swap

I'd recommend a JB in the bridge. :)

Looks killer with the cream pickup rings you put in it, BTW.

Re: PRS Tremonti SE pickup swap

Try swapping magnets. A4 in the neck, A3 in the bridge.
Or the reverse.

Re: PRS Tremonti SE pickup swap

WLH set sounds like it'd be right up your ally. Or the classic '59 Vintage Blues set.

Re: PRS Tremonti SE pickup swap

A2pro neck, and 59/c hybrid bridge, I'd go for the old Tremonti look and go with a chrome cover on the neck and uncovered black coils on the bridge.

IGood idea, I was thinking of having chrome covers on both.
