PRS Tremonti Treble vs. Duncan Distortion

Re: PRS Tremonti Treble vs. Duncan Distortion

from what i can remember, the TT has really good harmonics, and of course is very very hot. but that's jsut general info :D

Re: PRS Tremonti Treble vs. Duncan Distortion

The Tremonti is great under high gain, very articulate and thick. However I find it very lacking, and much too hot for playing clean. It can be split though if you wanna give that a shot. That may help in cleaning it up a bit.

well is ther any other pickup (preferably passive) that can give me the eq and distorted tone of a distortion but give me better cleans as well?

And the survey says... JB with a smaller (than the DD) ceramic magnet! (or DD with a smaller ceramic. Same thing.) Not so hot, cleans up better, not quite the same mid punch, but close... not as sweet as JB, but sweeter and rounder than DD. Basically, sounds like a mix between the JB and DD. The SD JBDD. :laugh2:

Re: PRS Tremonti Treble vs. Duncan Distortion

isnt that the "JB From Hell"? i might have to give it a try sometime

Re: PRS Tremonti Treble vs. Duncan Distortion

It has a very large ceramic magnet. It is supposedly based on the 500T that Tremonti used to play in his Les Pauls.
