Well this is a first. It was so hot in Saudi Arabia that the wax in my pickups melted!

Saw that last night and was reminded of a client who played an outdoor festival in western Kansas during the summertime. He was playing a Steinberger, and the neck got so hot he had to pour cold water on it between songs.

I'll stick to my unpotted pickups, I guess.
No doubt it gets hot enough. After a 4 hour outside show in the sun, the guitar needs to be stripped down and cleaned every time.

It could certainly get hot enough to do that in AZ, especially if your guitar is sitting in direct sunlight.
