PU Installation Problem

I just put a JB and ALinco II in my PRS SE. The Bridge seems to be working alright but I get no sound out of the neck. SO.... a couple questions:

1) The neck pickup wire was not long enough, so I took another wire and soldered it as an extension... is this no good? What should I do to lengthen the wire?

2) The schematice show a push-pull pot that doesn't exist in my guitar, do I just take the red and white wires and join them like the schematice shows for the neck pickup???

1 - extending the wire is fine
2 - yup
check all your connections involving the neck pup, usually its a cold solder joint or something similar

Extending the wire is fine, but it introduces the possibility that the wire could be grounding out where you don't want it to. Check the extension and see if that's hitting another wire or something it shouldn't.
