Last week I posted my thoughts and impressions after trying a Gibson Explorer out at Guitar Center. It's a guitar that I really don't have a lot of experience with at all, but have always been drawn towards. I mean, previous purchases were a choice between say a Am. Std. Strat or an Explorer. And the Strat won.
This morning, thanks to all of you convincing me to separate the absolute creepiness of playing a guitar that was gross, disgustingly filthy and the impression of the instruments design I placed an order for a new Gibson Explorer in Heritage Cherry. I thought about getting it in black or the white with the tremolo, but I like the tone of the rosewood fretboard and part of my enjoyment is in looking at the grain and intricacies of the finished wood. It had to be a transparent finish.
So, there is a HNGD coming soon too. Probably Friday or there abouts. I'll post photos if I am able. Thanks a lot for your input. It helped!
