PUP suggestions for PRS SE 245

Does anyone have any suggestions on higher output pickups for the SE 245? I love the guitar - the sound and playability. However, I just got a Fender Strat with EMG DG's and when I switch guitars, I have to crank the volume up to 10 to even get close to the Fender at 3 or 4. So I end up hitting the Fat Boost pedal just to get even with the rest of the group. Any ideas?

Re: PUP suggestions for PRS SE 245

Its not a 245, but I have a Super Distortion/Super2 set in a PRS Santana Se (early production) and I love it. It is a bit old-school, but those two pickups balance and match each other's tone better than anything I've tried. I've also had a Breed set in it, which was also great, but a bit sterile I thought. The CustomCustom/Pearly gates neck was also a good set, but could be a little muddy in that guitar. I also liked the JB (with an A2 magnet) in the bridge with a Full Shred neck. I had an SE Singlecut at one time, but the only set I tried in it was the Dimarzio 36th Anniversaries. It was ok, but nothing to write home about. The best pickup set that I have found for my Les Paul (same scale and shape as your 245) is the Whole Lotta Humbucker set. They aren't really high output, but they can do everything.

Welcome to the forum.

If you enjoy the EMG DG-20 system, you might be in the market for active pickups in the PRS SE too. Duncan has Blackouts, Live Wire Classic II and the Dave Mustaine model. EMG has a broader choice. I recommend the -X versions, the JH set and the -57/-66 pair. There is room in the control cavity for the PP3.

I was thinking active pickups might be the way to go but wasn't sure which ones. Thanks for the suggestions.
