pup wiring, please help

i just bought a duncan distortion to go in the bridge of my les paul, it didnt come with the wiring diagram. i have a few questions about it. i was told that i could not wire it with the original gibson neck pup without wiring the stock neck pup differently, is this correct? my other question is how do i properly hook up the dist in the bridge, ie: what color wire goes where?
i am not wanting to use the coil tap option.

UNhook the old one and put the duncan in the same place. Black is hot, red and white together and Green/bare ground. YOu can mix brands no problem. Leave the neck one alone

Yes, so long as the pot is grounded. I ground the bare and green wire together.

Thanks for the help guys, got her hooked up and it sounds so much better than the stock pup did, much more meaty and articulate.
