Pup Wiring Question

I'm picking up a new set of CTS 500K audio taper pots and some new caps tomorrow. I want to do the 50's style Les Paul wiring scheme. The pups in my axe are 4 conductor however and the schematics and diagrams I have are all for single conductor pup wiring. How do you wire up a four conductor pup like a single conductor? Thanks in advance.

With SD pups:
Green and bare get grounded
Black is the hot lead
Red and white are soldered together, preferably insulated, and left out and pretty much ignored.
