Whats the pros and cons as to wiring pups in series instead of wiring them parallel?

series has more output and a thicker sound, both can be humcanceling.

If you wire a humbucker in parallel, while still hum cancelling, it will sound more like a single coil (not quite, but considerably thinner and brighter than in series). It can be a useful sound, but not the normal reason people use humbuckers.
