I just got back from guitar center...the big "list" sale they are having for labor day. I just got the jz/jb hot rodded set for $90.00 total. hell I paid more than that for a used set on ebay a couple of weeks ago. Most Sd pick-ups are on sale for about $50.00-$60.00 each some sets are like $90.00-$100.00. These are the best prices i've seen for new Duncans.
Just thought I would let you guys know......

Re: pups at GC today!!!

hey gearjob
have you seen what the seth's were going for at GC?

Re: pups at GC today!!!

I have never seen a Seth set at a GC. The two GCs near me have a somewhat limited selection.

Re: pups at GC today!!!

Yeah, you can usually count on GC having the usual stuff, JB's, Jazz necks, 59's, distortions, Maybe one of the customs and maybe Hot rails. Its a rare GC has anything else.

Re: pups at GC today!!!

yeah that sounds about right, but still, the prices are excellent today. cheaper than most used ones on ebay.

Re: pups at GC today!!!

dang someone got the last pearly gates
no seth lovers
no alnico 2 pros
just 59's left-_- argh

Re: pups at GC today!!!

I have already seen the "selection" of pups at my GC, and everything is all black and regular spaced. I was told they are trying to reduce the inventory in the stores as part of the Labor Day sale.

Good prices, but who wants a JB? Tons of used ones for sale from unhappy owners.

Re: pups at GC today!!!

Ouch....Blueman that really hurt.

Sorry about that. JB's just don't work for me, in any guitar, same with ceramic magnets. Custom 5's however, that's a different story.

I see SO many used JB's for sale, so I know I'm not the only one who has a problem with that "icepick" tone. But hey, if they work for someone else, great.

Am I forgiven?

Re: pups at GC today!!!

Of course you are, you are entitled to your opinion..
for me...the jb in the bridge of a solid mahogany with rosewood fretboard sounds awesome...a little silky at lower volume, a little more velvety as volume increases and a little gritty with high volume and gain. matched with a jazz neck, I'm a happy axer..
