pups for a paul

Well I finally broke down and bought a 2003 Les Paul Premium Plus Standard. It has the original pups and they sound O.K. but not as good as what I care for. I play lead through the neck pup more than I do the bridge pup because it is a little thin sounding on the highs in my opinion. I play alot of heavy stuff, especially Ozzy and Wyldes stuff. I already have a Les Paul with the EMG Wylde set in it and was wanting something a little different for this one. I would like to be able to get a good "Slash" tone from it but still be able to get some of the "BLS" tone too. Any suggestions?

Re: pups for a paul

Yep, supposedly the Alnico II Pro neck has an awesome Slash style lead tone. I should think a Custom would get you in the region of Zakk's EMG 81 tone. I haven't actually tried it, though.

Re: pups for a paul

Slash uses A2P's in both his LP bridge and neck slot.

What is BLS Tone?

Edit: OK. Obviously, I haven't listened to enough BLS to offer practical advice on this one. :27:
