PUPs for Hollows and Semihollows?

I've read quite a bit from this great forum and scoured the web high and low for some insight into great humbucker pickups for hollowbody jazzboxes and semi-hollows for jazz, blues, classic rock (i.e. low to medium gain, unscooped) etc..

Given everything I've read, I would angle for PAF types - SD Antiquities for my hollow and maybe Seth Lovers for my semi.

Does anyone else have experience and opinions about preferred humbucker PUPs for hollows and semis, particularly for jazz (old and new styles), blues, and retro/classic rock?

welcome busyman .. good choices you made there ... the seth's sound incredible in semi-hollow guitars for the kind of music you mentioned ... for a big jazz box used to play jazz, the Benedettos (made by seymour duncan) are highly recommended

I LOVE alnico 2 humbuckers in semi hollowbodies, and my three favorites would be the Seth Lover, Antiquity and Custom Custom. I use the Seth Lover neck and Custom Custom bridge in my Hamer Monco Super Pro...I get the best of both worlds: clear warm fat tone from the vintage style Seth Lover neck humbucker and pronounced mids and ballsier, higher output tone from the bridge Custom Custom.

If you're not after higher than vintage output from the bridge pickup than a set of Seth Lovers or a set of Antiquities would be UNBEATABLE in a semi hollow body.

They are very similar but the Antiquity will be worth the extra money. The Antiquity version of Duncan's pickups always sounds just a little more textured, complex and lively to me when I compare it to the pickup most closely resembling it from the standard line.

I went with the Seth Lover for purely cosmetic reasons...the bridge Custom Custom in my Monoco has a shiny new looking nickel cover and wanted the neck pickup to look the same so I went with a Seth Lover.
