Push/pull TONE pot to split the bridge humbucker

Hey guys! Looks like I'm finally converting one of my strats to HSS and i'm wondering if i can use the bridge push/pull tone pot to split the humbucker. Basically it's gonna be 2 Dimarzio Areas and the soon arriving 59/Custom hybrid. 500k push pull volume pot with neck pickup added in any position when pulled up. 250k tone which i want to keep for neck and middle as this VV 54 pro in the neck with 500k vol and 250k tone sounds absolutely killer. The bridge pickup is wired to a separate 250k tone pot and i would like to use my push pull 500k pot to split the humbucker. Don't really care about autosplit in the 4th. Also how do i wire the capacitor to a push pull pot as i have no idea and I can't find any pictures apart from some completely different configurations with the cap wired differently in each one of them. I'm still gonna use this push pull pot for the bridge pickup just because it's the only 500k pot i have even if i can't split it the way i want, but i've got a feeling it's possible, right? Thanks in advance. Stay safe and bless you guitar tone lovers

Re: Push/pull TONE pot to split the bridge humbucker

The push pull switch is independent of the pot, so you can use either volume or tone push pull for any switching purpose that uses a DPDT on-on push pull.

If you are using the tone P/P for splitting, then one of the P/P switch lugs will go to ground. One end of the cap can go to the same ground the P/P switch goes to, the other cap leg needs to go to the appropriate pot lug (either middle or outside) depending on if you are doing a 50’s tone wiring or modern tone wiring for the Humbucker.
