Push Push switch

Anyone ever used one of these on a tone control instead of a push pull?
The look good and seem better than the push pull but where do you get them. Nik Huber and Warwick use them but I've not seen too many others,

Re: Push Push switch

Yep those They seem better than push pull switches although I can't find any in the old world. (although under $100 is too expensive to ship from Warmoth)

Re: Push Push switch

I tried one. It worked fine for a short while. Seemed to die sooner than a push/pull.

Re: Push Push switch

That is what I was thinking it has a spring in it so it might not last and if you can't change the spring it's a pain to swap out. I'm surprised you broke a push pull the one on my Godin is still going string after 15 years.

Re: Push Push switch

I'm using the push-push 500K pots from Warmoth in my guitars. The main problem I'm having is that the pot action is quite loose, to the point where I have to watch how I'm pushing the switch to avoid changing volume. I also hear the best ones ever were used for tone controls/coil splits in Yamaha guitars. Finding these pots is almost impossible at this point, though.

i would like to locate some p/p pots also.

Re: Push Push switch

I have never used one, but I love the idea of them. I think it would die sooner though - just begs for more abuse. Time to switch... "WHACK."

Re: Push Push switch

The jap ones in Yamaha are much smaller than the new WD ones so they won't fit snugly into modern pot holes.

The WD are perfect and made to a very high standard.

I have one in my PRS and I basically punch it onstage to select the up position.

2 years and over 200 gigs and not a single problem.

Re: Push Push switch

I have them on my Ibanez RS1010SL. The only thing I don't care for is there is no visual for what position it's on. Yeah, playing home alone you can hear the difference but with a band goin, sometimes it's tough to tell.

Same here. They're pretty cool though.

Well I was thinking of adding an LED for that

Nice idea,, How cool would this be, an led built into the knob either a color for either single or hum mode or a clear knob that changed color!

Too cool!! BTW did you see the cool LP that the guitar player from Rascal Flatts was playing @ the CMA. The whole face of the body was made up of LED's and made different colors and patterns. I'll see if I can find some video or a picture.

No one shows the CMA's over here.
I'm sure I've seen a push push with an LED on studio equipment so it would be possible.

Re: Push Push switch

Found it!
PS: Sorry for the hijack. I'll start a new thread.
