Q: Is wiring a stack/single coil/stack configuration equivalent to wiring an HSH?

Furthermore, if the middle pickup were RWRP, would the 2nd and 4th positions be hum-cancelled automatically with the stacks? or would you have to wire the guitar so that the stacks split when in the 2nd and 4th positions?

I believe I know the answer to both questions, but I'm not too keen on the nature of the stack pickups quite yet. I only know them with my ears.

WELCOME TO THE FORUM

Theoretically, if you have a humbucker in parallel with a true single coil, it will hum because the humbucker already cancelled its hum so it doesn't have any hum to cancel the single coil's hum.

Here's Mincer's article on his hum cancelling Strat: http://www.seymourduncan.com/blog/the-tone-garage/my-versatile-hss-wiring-scheme
