Question about after-market cab corner protectors

Do all after-market cabinet corner protectors require a rounded cabinet edge? My cab has tight 90 degree corners and it'd be nice to get corner protectors that are sharp/conform to such a cabinet edge, rather than a rounded edge.

Are there any that would do a non-rounded edge? Or would the typical ones for sale be OK to use anyway?

Re: Question about after-market cab corner protectors

Most require a round-over but there are some (mostly for PA cabinets) for square edges. For example, "ball" corners fit square edge cabs, but some require you to at least knock the point off the corner.

Check Parts Express, they have all different sorts of cabinet hardware.

Cool. As if its not hard enough finding ones for a kickback cab at 135 degrees, I gotta contend with most of them being rolled over. I'm not rolling my edges though, I worked hard to get them sharp lines!

I did a 3D mockup last night of one of the 135-degree corner protectors for exnihilo to print on his 3D printer. Maybe I'll just print my own so to speak. If I really knew what I was doing, I'd add some screw holes, but I was lucky to get as far as I did.

The reason they're rounded is so you don't destroy stuff with a super sharp metal edge... If your don't care if they're sharp, then I'd say check out a local sheet metal shop and have them make you some.

I could make an unraduised set in about 30-60 mins. (Cut, bent up, and soldered)... Painting would take a bit longer...

Or your could try what Mesa has been doing with their cabs for the last few years. They just wrap the edge with a small piece of heavy leather, attached with tacks. I didn't like these at first, but I've learned to appreciate them. They protect the corners without doing the damage to the walls that a metal corner does.
