question about DD and 59..

Hey guys. I've bought a Jap made Ibanez 470 SV which is the S series but with a two point Strat like Trem and locking tuners.. Mahogany carved strat body and bigger strat style neck with skunk stripe.. It has HSH pickups, and the owner stuck a 59 wich DOESN'T split in the neck position because it's a 2 wire pup I guess.. Standard Ibanez Single and Duncan Distortion in the bridge.. My question is what pup would you put in the mid which is a single that is stacked that would split well with the Distortion in the bridge? Also, what pup should I use for the neck that will split with said mid single? I'm thinking the Pearly Gates neck? But that's just a thought.. I'm not into the jazz, and I want something really good for that split sound in number 4 position.. for the strat sound.. The neck bucker should be good for clean and distortion... the bridge pup shoudn't drown out the single either, and like I said, it's a Distortion, so I don't know how much umph it will have split in position 2.. but I want to make sure whatever mid single / stacked I get splits well with both the neck pup and the distortion?

Re: question about DD and 59..

One of my favorite "split" sounds is the Distortion neck. So much so that I'm almost done with building a hybrid single from a Distortion neck coil.

It doesn't have the classic single-coil chime, but it does have its own unique warmth and openness. Might be worth a try.

Re: question about DD and 59..

I have the duncan mayhem set and a super 5 way. Like Artie says, it splits well and works good with the DD bridge.
