Question about eBay listing

wntbtw

New member
Hi--I`m selling something on eBay that some here may be interested in. Can i post the link to my eBay item? Thanks...!

Re: Question about eBay listing

Yes you may. People list the links to their gear on Ebay all the time.

Re: Question about eBay listing

This forum allows you to do it and it is very cool. I wonder why Jemsite and other music sites will ban you for it?

Re: Question about eBay listing

Might want to put a "FA: " instead of "FS: " in the subject line.

Re: Question about eBay listing

Generally members who have been around for a while don't look upon it badly, but if you have a low post count it is considered suspicious.

That was not bad, that was helpful advice........how can we check your feedback if you've yet to post a link to your auction?

Re: Question about eBay listing

Personally, I thought it was beyond 'bad'.

The eBay link was posted at 8:34pm--'mister nice guy`s' post was posted at 9:07.

You either didn`t look for it or assumed it was within this thread which, if you read every comment within this thread, you would understand why it isn`t...

Because it`s within a new 'Classified' thread:

Don`t mean to be critical, but that post was not necessary at all.

he didnt mean to be critical at all man. you asked a question and he was giving you a side of the answer. if you are not a regular posting member then links to ebay auctions can verge on seeming like spam.

anyways, its obvious that you are a cool dude and not spamming since you asked 1st so no worries, water under the bridge man.

good luck with the sale!!

With all due respect, I was merely pointing out the social mores that this group is governed by. I did not mean offense and I am sure that people who know my character did not interpret it as a challenge or as disrespectful. Bear in mind there have been plenty of low post count members who have used this forum as merely a bulletin board to supplement their eBay auctions, never to be seen again. This is exactly why other boards forbid it! I wish you the best of success on your transaction!

Yeah I have to say though, a new member that signs up and then just posts in the classifieds and / or links to auctions should qualify as spam. That said, I do like the idea we are allowed to post links, and thankfully people here don't take advantage of that aspect to come to start blatant spamming.

I know a few sites require you to have a set post count and / or a time limit, before you are allowed to post a classified, which seems like a good idea. The ideal approach would be membership for 30 days AND a post count of 100 before allowing the ability to post FOR SALE items. The post count of 100 would have to also be more substantial than 100 posts of smileys as follows:

post 1 = :D
post 2 = :nana:
post 3 =
post 4 =
post 5= :opcorn:

Bottom line the people in the forum community would like to get to know new members, before buying that '59 Historic Les Paul from a person that signed up 2 days ago. Building a good rep and trust is key. That is all.
