Question about matching pickups...

Hello. I need some help on choosing the right pickup combo for my Carvin Bolt. Im really shooting in the dark on this one and need some advice. And browsing through the forums, I can tell that there is a lot of knowledgable and awesome fellow musicians here.

So I got a Carvin Bolt and it is an incredible guitar. But as in most of my electrics, I'm putting SD's in. I already got the Hot Rails in the bridge that Ill put in. Now for the neck, I 'd really like to get Lil' Screaming deamon. Neck version of course. Now my biggest concern is the middle. I'd still like to have a somewhat vintage sounding strat frequencies coming out of this guitar so I'd love to put a Vintage Rails in the middle. But I am afraid of a possible huge volume difference between the bridge and the middle especially.

How would I go about picking out the right pickups to go with Hot Rails but still have some sweet straty sounds and similar volume output. Should I maybe go for the bridge version of the Vintage Rails and put it in the middle? Would bridge Vintage Rails be a good match with the Hot ones in the bridge volume wise? And would I still get some nice clean tones out of it? Thanks so much. Sorry for the novel.

Re: Question about matching pickups...

i consider Cool Rails is good for that position. i am no expert or pro but for me it seems like a nice fit. good luck w/ your search :)

check the recommended setup found at SD's page

" complete setup

Available for both bridge and neck/middle positions. For an incredibly versatile guitar, use an SCR-1n (the Cool Rails) in the neck position along with an SHR-1b Hot Rails in the bridge and an SVR-1n Vintage Rails in the middle. "

(from the Seymour Duncan page)

so your setup would be:

Hot Rails (bridge), Vintage Rails (middle), Cool Rails (neck).

:)

Thanks Cesar. I just might go with that setup. Or still put that Lil Screamin Deamon instead of Cool rails in the neck. Hopefully they ballance nicely. Thanks again!
