Question about "Music Man" pickups for Ibanez SRX series.

I've got an Ibanez SRX750. It's been discontinued for a while now, but it seems that the current models have the same pickups / electronics.

I've had problems with the electronics since the beginning and I'm fed up.

1. Will the SMB-4d fit into my bass' cavity?
2. Can I use passive electronics (volume, EQ)?
- If not - what tone circuit do I get?
