I have a Fender Cyber Deluxe and an Ibanez TS9 that is my rig. While fooling around last night, I discovered what is called the effects loop on the back of the unit. I realized that I could run the pedal through the loop, and bypass the input on the amp itself. Now I know that there is a different sound coming out of the amp now, but I'm not sure what exactly the differnce is. Can someone explain what the advantage and disadvantage of running the pedal through the effects loop as opposed to the traditional way of going form guitar to pedal to amp. Also, what exactly is the difference in sound that I am hearing. I'm guessing that it has something to do with the drive being placed either pre or post volume. Whats the deal? What's the better way to run?
