Question about the JB

Hello there! I was just looking to my guitar(it's a 7-string model), and to a picture of the JB model(the 6-string version) in the seymour's website, and i just realized that the JB model has two extra holes, one in each coil, in the side of the pickup, but the JB in my guitar doesn't. So i was wondering if maybe it isn't a JB that is on my guitar(it's a custom built), and was placed by mistake another pickup. But then i looked on the musician's friend site, and their JB(the 7-string) was just like mine, but then 7-string of another site was like the seymour's site.
So i know it's a kinda of uniteresting question, but does someone know if all JB's necessarily have those holes?

I know there was an explaination posted some time ago about this, I don't reemeber the answer. My six-string version has the holes. To be certain you have a JB remove the pickup and look at the baseplate. If it is a newer version it will have the model number om it.

to elaborate on BB´s post, I think it had something to do with teh Original Gibson Hummies having those holes, and Seymour as we know is a Vintage buff... Iand of course on a seven string there is no "vintage" humbucker that would be reproduced... so there the bobbins are solid...

Again, I THINK it was something like that... don´t know ;)

hell, my anderson has those 2 holes in between the 3rd & 4th poles on each row. the purpose? no clue. but at least duncan isnt the only one adding holes
