question about the output of EMG's

I understand the output of a guitar loaded with EMG's is different than passive pickups. are we talking about impedence level? is the signal still unbalanced?

what if I had a guitar with an 81 and 60 and plugged straight into the line input of a mixer or keyboard amp? would this give a clean sound? or would the signal from the guitar be too weak and noisy?

thanks

Re: question about the output of EMG's

I haven't tried that but it's clean plugged into a soundcard, and actually- because there's an internal preamp you can actually plug headphones directly into the output jack with a 1/4 adapter. My guess is yes but I don't know for sure.

Re: question about the output of EMG's

A balanced signal requires both a hot and cold signal along with the ground, so it's not balanced, no.

It is low impedance and thus would not require a DI box to impedance match to a mixer.
