question about wiring diagram

My XV-300 has the stock wiring and i get an out of phase sound with both pickups now that i have changed over to a phat cat/mean 90. I found the proper diagram but i can't figure out one item. If you look at where i made red circles you will see a half moon where the wires cross and i can't locate any more info. What does that mean exactly?

The GFS and Phat cat obviously have different polarities, so you need to swap the ground and hot on one of the pickups.

The half moons refer to wires that aren't electrically connected, but cross on a 2D wiring diagram

If you can change them. If they both have braided wire as in the diagram then it's difficult.

Yes. They just go over the other wire whixh means exactly that they are not electrically connected.

Not sure swapping hot and ground will reverse magnet polarity, you might have to take the GFS pup apart and turn the magnets over and reassmble,,that way you can get polarity correct.

Yes. Swapping the hot and ground wire will effectively reverse the wind, but won't affect polarity. You need to flip both magnets to affect polarity.

But why is it that in every SD or DMZ diagrams or instructions they say: "If they are out of phase just reverse the hot and ground wire and it should be okay."

So why on some cases you only have to reverse the wires and then There is the Peter Green mod which only reverses the magnet to reverse the polarity and then some.
