question about wiring

This is less of a pickup question.
I love the effect the EMG SPC/EXG/RPC give to the sound of the pickups, they add life to it.
since i love the sound with alot of guitars, i wanted to build this inside a pedal so i tried wiring only the EXG first.

I wired it as Guitar -> Mono jack in > EXG > Mono jack out -> amp

this is the wiring (sorry for the horrendous sketch)

The EXG has these wires:

Red
White
BLK
BLK
Green

The two blacks being ground (one is optional, it says in their diagram).

Problem is, no sound would come through, just hum like the amp isn't connected to anything.

does Anyone know if this can even work ? or is something wrong with my wiring?

Re: question about wiring

a para-EQ sometimes kills your dynamic range (there are better ones like the MXR, still it kinda kills the "attitude" of the sound) it's i think a subjective feeling but it's there.
the EXG really changes how everything sounds without hurting your dynamics or range.

Re: question about wiring

Their online diagrams all show a single black wire on the EXG, so I don't know how to go about helping you out, other than suggesting you try connecting the two black wires and sending them to ground. Chances are good that if there's a lead then it needs to be connected to something. Have you tried contacting EMG?

Got a diagram or something showing how you wired it? It's really impossible to diagnose without knowing what you did, like how you connected the battery, if you've made the effect switchable via a stomp switch, etc.
