In reference to device output, we generally refer to "pro" level and "consumer" level. +4dBu and -10dBV respectively. Here's a chart to show the relationship:

The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 lists its output as being 10dBu. Thats hot. Real hot. 2.5 volts RMS, and almost 8-volts p-p. I wonder if this is a misprint? Did they mean -10dBV? Unfortunatly, there's no Focusrite forum. Does anyone know what the real spec is? The reason I'm asking is, I'm trying to build an interface from the balanced 2i2 output into my unbalanced consumer level Proton preamp. So that output level spec becomes critical.

P.S. I understand decibel conversions. I'm questioning that output level.
