Question Installing single conductor Slash APH-2s

Good Morning

I recieved my APH-2's yesterday and just wanted to clarify something before I decide to install them or send them back. When I ordered them I didn't realize they were single conductor. I have a 2009 Gibson LP Studio Silverburst with coil tapping that I want to install them in. The current Gibson pickups are using a 4 wire conductor .

I am ASSUMING all I need to do is simply remove all of the current connections from the pickup leads and just solder the hot from the APH-2 to the pot connector and solder the braid to the top of the pot. Once i do that everything shall still work with the exception of the coil tapping correct? The push pull pots will still work one way but not the other, in other words i don't need new pots to replace the push / pulls, right?

My other alternative is to trade them in for APH-1's (4 - cond) and then simply just transpose the colors and everyhting will still as it does now. It's not a big issue because I don't really use the tapping a feature anyway but it wouldn't bother me to keep it like since it came that way.

:thanks:

yup. remove the current connections then solder the hot wire to the volume pot and the braid to the pot case. everything will work just fine minus the coil splits
