Question on Tele Bridge Vintage Stack Wiring for Lap Steel

Hello all,

I have a hankering to build a 6-string lap steel and want to use a Duncan Telecaster Vintage Stage Bridge pickup in a standard Tele bridge housing. I'm not interested in the Esquire 3-position switching where the forward position sounds like the amp is wrapped in a blanket in a closet. However, I'm interested in taking advantage of the pickups full wiring potential as I see not only black and white wires, but also green and red. I couldn't find anything in the wiring diagrams, unless the one with the Gibson style pickup (pic below) is applicable. Is it? Also, can these options be used with a Tele 3 position blade switch?

Please chime in and educate me. Thanks.

welcome to the forum!

you could do that but with a stack you probably wont get what you want out of it. series and split are fine options, not sure how the parallel will sound

Parallel would be OOP?

Okay...so it looks like a stack might not work in this configuration but a dual coil humbucker will. My next questions is:

How would this wiring configuration work with a Les Paul type pickup selector switch? Pretty easy with a Fender-type slide switch but will it work with a Les Paul-type switch and which wires go to which post on that switch? I can't find that option on the wiring diagrams. If it's there please enlighten me. Thanks.
