Question on vintage trems

I've never really played with a strat or anything armed with this sort of trem, but I was wondering if the 6-point trem systems are able to go up in pitch as well down and is the range decent? Also, is drop tuning easier than with a Floyd?

I'm looking at those Edwards strats and I don't know a **** thing about 'em so thanks!

Ok. Yes, they can be set up to go up in pitch as well as down, i.e. floating.

I don't drop tune, so I don't think I can help you there. I would assume the setup is the same, ut with heavier strings

There are lots of tricks to using a Vintage type Strat bridge & have it set to work well floating. I use 2 instead of 6 screws, & 4 springs (you might want 5 for lower tunings). I prop up the back of the bridge with half of a pencil, set the intonation & the set the spring tesnion so the bridge stays in that raises position. I use a bone nut, & sometimes lube the slots with pencil graphite. I like locking tuners, though. I'd like to try the Tone Pro locking Klusons.

I have a 2-point strat that I drop tune on, it's not an issue and I don't see why it would be on a 6-pointer.
