Question RE: Ohm, DC Resistance

Looking at some pickups on Ebay, and the seller gave me these specs for the pup (it is a mini humbucker).
"the pickup reads 2.7 mili-volts and meters 28.2K ohms"
Does this sound right? He said it is on the back of the pup.
Do I read the Ohm as the same as DC resistance?
What is the relationship between DC Resistance and OHM?
I'd like to get these pups, but don't want to get something that will not work for me, cause its too hot and some other issue.
Don't mini hum stick around 6-7 DC resistance, and hot, they're around 12.0 or so?
Thanks!

Re: Question RE: Ohm, DC Resistance

dc resistance is measured in ohms

28k is probably very thin wire to get that high in such a small space

Re: Question RE: Ohm, DC Resistance

Sounds like BS to me and if it's not BS they'll sound like playing with a carpet between pick and strings.

Re: Question RE: Ohm, DC Resistance

Maybe he's just inept? But I don't know how you could possibly get a reading that's that far off...

Re: Question RE: Ohm, DC Resistance

Not to mention that pickup can reach volts, not millivolts.

I'd go by photos. If the pickups look real lowball him since nobody else will by from him.

Are these supposed to be "real" mini-humbuckers like for the Firebird or are we talking Strat-sized things here?
