Questions Before I Order From SD Custom Shop

This is the first set of aftermarket pickups i’ve bought so I apologize if these are dumb questions.
First of all, i have asked for my bridge pickup to be similar to an antiquity texas hot. Online, all of the antiquity pickups look like they have different mounting screws? what’s the deal with this? will it fit to my pick guard any different that other pickups? secondly, why do some pickups look different? for example, on the ssl-1 you can see the copper wire on the sides while on other pickups like antiquity’s, they seem to be covered? can I ask for mine to be covered? and thirdly, what are the pro’s/cons of wax cloth hookups? i know this is a lot of questions so thank you in advance for any answers

Dumb questions are the ones not asked.

Single coils will use button head or tapered head depending on your pickguard.

Most single coils have interchangeable covers. You are just seeing a picture of one with no cover. Your CS pickups will come with covers.

Cloth covered wire is just vintage correct and the big advantage to it is ease of instillation. Nothing wrong with pvc cover d wire

Re: Questions Before I Order From SD Custom Shop

the antiquity mounting screws are the same ones i use with other single coils, i dont think they are any different unless they are aged in appearance.

strat single coils usually have covers. the pic of the ssl1 is with the cover removed. they are not attached but held in place by a spring. youll see when you remove the old pup.

hookup wire is pretty much hook up wire. people say they can hear a difference but i cant. the wax stuff is nice since you can just push it back without have to cut it

All I'm going to say is this; You saved much time asking these questions here vs the shop! Good call.

Good questions, and hopefully the answers can help others with the same questions.
