i tried to do a between of dimebag and modern scott ian metal tone
recorded with phone, the result wasn't as bad as expected
what you think about guys?
nah, well, not for me, the amp was with the volume on two and half, is an old peavey transtube envoy (bandit's little brother, but still 40w) i ran both my od and eq on the first riffs
I think you have failed the tone test! Actually, is that possible? When someone does a tone test, who grades it? I would have to hear it from a better recording to assess it properly.
the above is not to be taken seriously, not that anyone every takes me seriously anyway.
Don't know what phone you used but the IPhone does a fantastic job providing you place it in the right location for the tone you want (cab thunk or room sound) and don't drive it into distortion
The only reason I flunked you is because 'tone' is not the word used to describe the character or quality of a musical sound or voice as distinct from its pitch and intensity. It's timbre. I've been made to feel bad for that mistake for almost a year now.
