Quick install question....

Hey all, Im installing a Custom Custom and a PG in my Epi tonight and the wiring diagram shows the red and white wires "taped" off. Are they just "taped" off or are they connected together? Im just doing a basic two volume two tone install with a 3-way switch. Here is the diagram Im using:

You need to actually connect the red and white, then tape them off. Yeah I know, it's confusing, I had the same problem first time I put in new pups as well. I don't understand why the diagram can't make it more obvious FFS.

Yeah, I wasted time trying, shoulda asked!:eyecrazy:
Just so you have an idea about how it works, I was told connecting the red and white is basically connecting each coil of the humbucker. If you don't connect the wires, both coils aren't working.

2 hours later and they are in! ****, that was fun! That PG neck didnt have the longest lead in the world, thats for sure. They do sound great so far..I have a few other things to do to the guitar before stringing it up and giving it a good setup. Thanks again..
