is a normal 112 cab mono all the time? how do i connect a stereo output jack to a mono cab?

i only have one 112 cab, would using a stereo cable damage the cab at all?

Re: quick mono stereo question

it wont matter. with one speaker you are always only going to get mono. need two speakers for stereo

Re: quick mono stereo question

. . . and two amplifiers and two different signal sources. A guitar going into a "Y" cable, into two amps and two speakers is just twice as much mono. ;)

Re: quick mono stereo question

ye i have that in mind but i dun have spare cash to start a new set of amps yet...so currently, i m just running the built-in solid state stereo power amp (on my engl 530) and then using a Y-cable, connect one of the mono-outs to the cab... i remember solid state power amps do not need to see a load at the end, right? all i'm saying is, does it do any harm if i leave one of the mono-outs on the y-cable as it is, no amp no nothing? i know tube power amps would burn if not connected to cabs.
