Quick question: How to tell if a pickup is 53mm spacing??

Hi I'm new, but I'll keep it short and sweet I'm sure any one of you should be able to tell me.

I'm looking at buying a '1st generation' JB pickup, but I'm not sure whether its a trembucker or not (I'd prefer it not to be). It dosn't have the writing on the front of the pickups, theres an engraving on the base plate. Is there any way to tell? By model number or measuring? Something in the instructions perhaps? I'm not even sure when the trembucker designs were made so if its an old one maybe there will be no mention of it?

Thanks in advance!

pretty sure trem spaced was later than early JBs ... don't know what the official definition of '1st generation' is

i hate to be a smart-@$$, but can't you just measure it with a ruler graded in millimeters?

53mm is pretty exactly 2"... simply measure from center to center on teh e poles.

But a "1st Generation JB" is definitely not a trembucker ;)

He did send me a message saying 35mm by 70mm which confused me a fair bit, but I'm not sure where to measure from, any ideas?

If it's the trembucker version it has three holes in each leg if I'm right....
