Quick question re STK-S4's and phasing

I was recently wiring a set of the STK-S4's, but when I tested them, the neck and bridge pickups had no bass at all, ala being out of phase.

Simple enough to fix, but my question is, when reversing the wires and soldering white to ground, do I wire black AND bare to the switch? FWIW I have reds taped off since I'm not worrying about tapping.

Any advice is appreciated.

Bare should always go to ground.

As for the phasing issue, are you saying they have no bass when used individually, or together?

When used individually. It's like it's out of phase with itself. I dunno, maybe my wiring was shoddy. Thing is I have a '62 AVI strat that does it as well but only on the neck pickup. The in-between sounds on both are completely IN phase it seems.
