Note also, that you don't actually have to use the "quote" button per se. Just copy and paste the text, and enclose it in "quote" brackets. Since it is an HTML function, do you, by any chance, have your browser set to show only in text mode? That would prevent HTML tags from functioning.

What you need to do it put the word "quote" in brackets, before the text and "quote" in brackets (with a forward slash right before it) after the text you want to quote. If you want to quote a specific member use

as the header.

Hit the "Quote" option to the bottom right of any member's post to see an example of this exactly.
