Randall KH2 and KH3 modules arrived

I was supposed to get the KH1 too, but it wasn't in the box :( Should be here in a week or so though. Anyway...Both of these modules are VERY cool. More open and articulate sounding/feeling than other modules, the taper on the controls are VERY nice/sensitive and offer plenty of range for all kinds of crunchy goodness.

The KH2 is the lower gain module while the KH3 basically starts where KH2 leaves off. Both can be dialed in for lighter or heavier tones though. They FEEL great to play too.

If anyone is interested in the MTS stuff, definitely check these out if you're wanting a beefy marshall type of tone. We all know the typical KH vibrato/wah jokes but don't let that fool you. Lots of people will dig these modules :)

I put my Edirol R09 recorder in front of the cab (still have lots of testing to do with it cuz I can't quite get an accurate recording yet) and it's the power section of a 1992 Rackmount Dual Recto (red section).

Does the KH3 do a convincing Mark IIC+ tone? Up against the Studio Pre and Quad seems like it would be tough competition.

Re: Randall KH2 and KH3 modules arrived

It holds it's own against the studio/quad but it's not meant to be a C+ module :)

Re: Randall KH2 and KH3 modules arrived

Weird, I was just looking up MTS info yesterday, as my friend and fellow band mate is mulling over getting a 50 watt MTS. I think it's a great idea for an amp, and after hearing the Lynch Box in person (played by the man himself, George Lynch) I know the MTS series can deliver good tone. I listened to some clips yesterday of a guy with an RM4 into a VHT 2/90/2 and a Genz-Benz G-Flex 2x12... some of the modules sounded great, but I wasn't a fan of some of the others.

Good to hear a couple of the KH modules. Thanks for sharing.
