Rare LTD/ESP Explorer... HETFIELD!!!

Hey!

I just came across this pre-Gibson lawsuit ESP/LTD Explorer. He wants $600- a little high in my opinion. Looks like he installed some SD's, but I don't know which models. Here's a chance for all you Het-wannabes to have a correctly-shaped Explorer! Not that funny pointy thing that ESP is selling these days. Slap some EMGs in it for that authentic Het vibe! Wolf into Man inlays are optional!

ROCK ON!

I know I'm about to piss a few people off, but there is just something about a Gibson style axe with a bolt neck that makes me cringe...oddly enough, a set neck Fender does the same thing!!!

yeah, bolt on explorers dont look right...bte i think those are duncan designed

Re: Rare LTD/ESP Explorer... HETFIELD!!!

i had one of those ordered actually.. untill i learned that they had to change them due to the lawsuit and they got all weird and pointy which looked way wrong so i canceled the order cos i had one of those...

I agree. Regardless of how the guitar sounds, an Explorer should have a set neck. it just makes me think it's cheap, why wouldn't they go the extra mile?

Those Tele-Sonics have caught my eye though!

NO, in fact all James's V and explorers are bolts...all his ESP are bolts except the JH-3 Les Paul looking thing...it's a set neck!

Re: Rare LTD/ESP Explorer... HETFIELD!!!

no dude....just no. not at all. his signature series ones (except the LP one) are all bolt on, but thats just cause ESP is weird and he doesnt use them anyway

What's so horrible about bolt on necks? I happen to prefer them to set or neck thru designs. IMO, there's nothing worse than having your hand slip all over a sweaty neck while trying to shred. Yeah- they make tung oil finished necks, but gimmie a hunk of bolted on maple any day!

Make that 2 hunks of bolted on maple :)

Not to mention, if you break it beyond repair, it's a hell of a lot easier to take out 4 screws... :)

nothing wrong with bolt on, hell half my guitars are bolt on, but everybodys just saying bolt on and explorers dont seem right. i agree with that.
