Ratty Old Song: Aceman Delivers!

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
Here it is!!!!! The new song by Aceman.

A couple of brief oopsies, but overall you get the feel/vibe. I was so pissed at all the botched camera attempts i ad-libbed a little and had a few flubs. Ignore the last 10 seconds. I just needed top get this up. Give me some feedback; Structure, length, arrangement, whatever. I'm gonna work on this some more definitely. What can I do to improve it?

Les Paul #1, Distortion bridge, Marshall on OD 1 with a Boss DD3 and some verb. The backing is Garage Band. I need to get my guitar direct so I can work with the levels better.

Wow...catchy riffs & has a nice flow to it...very 80's & cool!

Now all you need are some OTT vocals & a screaming solo (or two....lol...maybe even three :D).

Can someone embed the video? It's not working on my phone.

Thus the title "RATT-y Old Song. It felt a little Ratt inspired. I was telling myself "This would have been AWESOME in 1984"

- only about 30 years too late....

When the music world's done with this 70's hangover..it'll move to the 80's... :D

Oh..& I did'nt get the the play on "Ratt"..haha..stupid. It actually made me think of Y&T..

Jammin' man! :headbang:

I love soloing over stuff like that.

Speaking of which, you should record the rhythm and make a vid of your solo skills over it!

That's my next step. I think I can get the guitar into the garage band track for much better quality. I'm old dog - these things don't happen fast.

Re: Ratty Old Song: Aceman Delivers!

I didn't vome here to be placated (although it makes me feel tingly all over)

Bring the critical assessment!

Verse: Too long?

A/G/A part after Chorus: Necessary?

WHat else?

Re: Ratty Old Song: Aceman Delivers!

Have you considered lyrics and a melody?
Its just a few guitar chords and a drumbeat at the moment which is a good start, but its not a fully developed song yet.

No doubt Gibson - this is a "sketch" at best.

I also have indeed considered lyrics and melody and decided that somebody who does that stuff should do some!

Re: Ratty Old Song: Aceman Delivers!

Nice tune!

Bridge: Way Cool Jr chorus riff.... Hehehehe.

I like the A/G/A part after the chorus, it brings the tune down to the verse again.

I like the verses - but perhaps keep them a bit shorter? If you want to make a quick RATT style song, you need to shorten it up - but its some cool riffs.

Can you fit some widdly bits in the verse riff? Check out how Warren played in Ratt - he always did those little chirps and what not, to keep the rhythm interesting.

Chorus: Kinda reminded me of that Fastway song Kill Me With Your Heart - the verse part in that. If my ears arent fooling me, it is in E minor, right? Why not do this: Instead of D - C - D - C then do D - C - D - A# -C if that sounds good? you know mess a bit with the tonic and sound of it, would be cool to get that feeling in there, classic 80s progression as well :)

Record that focker and send it to me, lets have a guitar solo battle. :P

5/5 dude - that was (no pun intended) ace :)
