What can a guy like Mike Matthews do in this situation? He lives amongst corruption, and if he retaliates, they'll just burn his home and factory down and probably kill him. Sometimes, the only way to do it is to fight fire with fire, legally or not. If I were him, I'd send a hitman to take care of the problem.
The only other options are A. Sell it and move to Hawaii to retire. B. Get some help from other companies to relocate his machinery to another country, let the women go, and start business in a neighboring country with new employees. If his sh1tty government won't help him, what choice will he have?

The thing is they don't pay even if he sells, he is screwed most likely.
Doing biz in countries like China and Russia is a near total crap shoot. Russia is out of control in many parts and companies dealing in China are finding out there is a total and complete disregard for intellectual property. Capitalism makes many strange bedfellows.

I'm wondering if 2/3 of the world's tube supply is gone, how long will it take before other investors jump in to take advantage of the loss, creating new tube companies....most likely in China? I think that's what would happen. Where there's demand, there will be suppliers. I feel bad for Sovtek though, because Borin needs to get a bullet in the head. What an unscrupulous bastard he is!

i would be willing to pay some extra bucks for tubes if somebody opened a factory in a more expensive but more stable.......and friendly........Eastern European country like Poland, Slovenia or Hungary. Or even go across the border to Ukraine. They still have corruption, yes, but with their new Pres owing his job to indirect American campaign funding, our phone calls at least get answered when we have a problem.:fingersx: If Mike lost the company, it would be difficult for the new guys to sell in the US. One big problem from the sound of it is that the Russians want the real estate, and don't care about the tubes. Mike can't just move the equipment - as the article demonstrates, the workers are an important part of the process, but can't be picked up and moved to Mexico the way a machine can.

SO this means that business in Russia is being conducted as usual and NOW, more than 10 years after teh fall of the USSR, people are finally starting to realize what that means... Any maybe even care for once because they´re directly affected...
