Real SD Humbucker?

I recently purchased a SD Jazz en Distortion for my Ibanez, but on the top of the pickups there's no "Seymour Duncan" logo. I was just wondering if this was normal or not, since up to now I haven't seen any SD pickup without the logo being there? Can I be sure that I in fact have the right pickups installed or should I start worrying? Also, is there another way to verify that the store didn't screw me over?

Not all Duncans have logos. Look at the baseplate for the Duncan logo engraving.

Where did you buy them?

Check the back for serial #s / model #s. Are these used? Sometimes people remove the Seymour Duncan logo. But I would definitely check. If they're used, and the serial # / model #s are correct, it could be someone didn't like the logo. If they're NOT used but someone sold them to you as new, etc, you got ripped off. New means logo almost always, unless they were ordered without logo, which I've honestly never seen before (but it could happen). They could be rip-off "duncan designed" models.

i bought them in a music store in my town, so they should be genuine... I'll definitely check it though, thx for the replies!

I ordered them in a store which also placed them in the guitar, so it should be new actually...
I'll check on the back of the pickups (just remove strings and unscrew the pickups right?). If the serial and model # aren't ok, them I've got a problem of course (or better, the store has one)

Yes (but like anything) it's easy if you know what you are doing.

If you have pickup rings just detune the strings as much as you can and unscrew the pickup mounting ring form the body. You should be able to slide it out and see the bottom. Be careful not to scratch the guitar.

The only thing that concerns me is that most all Jazz and Distortion p'ups have logos on the tops.

Yes, thats true, unless they were custom ordered without logo, in which case they would come with a different jewel box insert.
