reccomend me a compressor

I'm thinking about buying a compression pedal, or some sort of clean boost type thing, and i'm looking for suggestions...

I'd be using my les paul through my bassman, and i play classic rock/blues type things, and want something to give a bit more punch for certain parts.

i've heard great things about the Klon Centaur, has anyone tried one?? I'm hesitant on that, though, because its rather pricey.

Keeley Comp for the compressor...or maybe a Barber Tone Press.

I don't use a compressor, but a friend of mine who does swears by his Keeley Compessor.

I have an Analogman Juicer that could fit the bill on its less-compressed settings; the Bad Bob Booster is a great boost and through your rig (I play through an old Pro Reverb) it would make your guitar sound like it is on steroids...your tone stays essentially the same but it just goes to eleven, so to speak.

The BBB ads a bit of presence that gives you a bit of sparkle/sweetness as well. I think you could get both of these pedals for the price of a Klon.

Just my two cents...good luck!

Dude you freaking read my mind. The Barber Tone Press is a cool thing to get... the price is a little friendlier then the Keeleys and introduces a parallel compression options.

PS. MEY MRID!! check your PMs about that LP man!

On the less expensive side of things, I really like the Visual Sound Route 66. Great compressor and a good Tubescreamer copy in one box. A cool feature is that you can use them seperately or together.

Personally, I'm kinda partial to the MXR Dynacomp. I "Don't Leave Home Without It."
